228 Thus, there are fewer and fewer young people with “normal weight” where it is important to note that this situation deteriorates with age (i.e., older age groups exhibit more deviation from the norm). BMI is significantly (negatively) associated with satisfaction with one’s physique (r = –0.35; p <0.01; on average, women show slightly lower sat- isfaction, t = 2.44; p <0.05), a sentiment significantly associated with life satisfaction in general (r = 0.34; p <0.01).
