147 Glavno sporočilo tega prispevka je torej: ne osredotočajmo se toliko na vprašanje, ali in kako mladim prepovedati uporabo pametnih telefonov in spletnih družbenih omrežij oziroma jo zmanjšati, pač se osredotočimo na vprašanje, kako jih (tako mladi kot odrasli) pametno uporabljati. V vsakem primeru naj bodo pravila v zvezi z rabo digitalnih tehnologij otrokom in mladostnikom njihovi razvojni stopnji primerno pojasnjena. Pri tem naj bo mladim predvsem jasno, katere vidike njihove blaginje želijo odrasli spodbujati s katerim ukrepom ter da sta v ospredju vseh teh pogovorov o omejevanju uporabe telefonov njihova celostna blaginja in zdravje. Kljub nekaterim skrb vzbujajočim poročilom o možni škodljivosti (pretirane) uporabe spletnih družbenih omrežij je tako ključno, da starši in učitelji manj očitajo mladim, da na napravah preživljajo preveč časa, ter jih bolj skušajo poslušati, razumeti in jim pomagati uporabljati nove medije na načine, ki bodo za njihovo blagostanje koristni. Da bi bili tega zmožni, pa morajo najprej tudi sami razumeti svoje razloge za uporabo teh omrežij ter znati urejati svoje vedenje, da bodo s svojo uporabo zgled mladim, ki jim skušajo pomagati.
